Why does anyone buy life insurance?
Why does anyone buy life insurance?
Life insurance is bought by a thoughtful, kind and caring
person who loves somebody and is concerned about their welfare,
whether it is a child or children, a mate, partner, parents,
brothers and sisters, other relatives, or a special
friend.
A selfish person seldom buys life insurance.
Life insurance is bought by someone who cares about "what might
happen if I die too soon?"
Few buy life insurance because they want to
die, but it is bought because of the "what if" factor of the
unknown "when" of death.
Buying life insurance makes a person feel
good about themselves and better able to deal with the trials
of life; it is worth every penny you pay, and, because you love
some"one" or love "them", it is worth the sacrifice to do
it.
Life insurance also makes a person less
afraid to die. Please forgive personal references, but when I
was a teenager, my father collapsed in my arms, bleeding
profusely from a hemorrhaging ulcer.
We made it to the hospital, and, even though
he could barely speak or lift a hand, my Dad gave me a check
and envelope to take to the post office--an overdue premium
payment.
I immediately returned to the hospital and
Dad was so relieved he was able to relax and go to
sleep.
That showed me the peace of caring for your
family and doing the right thing.
In my own experience, while working in my
office on a Good Friday, I was feeling a little guilty because
most everybody was closed ,
when suddenly a guy was jumping over my counter. I was angry
that somebody would jump over my counter but then I saw
his mask, and his gun.
I looked at his face and I thought: "I can
fight him and maybe save my money".
I also thought: "Thank God for the large
policy, if I lose, at least my family will have some
money".
The odd part was, I was not scared but was
very calm and angry.
He must not have been a killer because with
my attitude and surliness a real killer would have done it
anyway.
I decided, well, I can earn more money, I believe my family
would rather have me than the money, so I let him the
money.
I have forgiven the guy and am grateful he
let me live.
I kept my composure because of the policy but
I don't recommend this kind of a test to validate your good
judgment in buying life insurance.
